Did you ever see the movie Legally Blonde? Remember the video that Elle Woods (Reece Witherspoon) submits with her application to Harvard Law School? Well, it reminds me of the latest trend in self-promotion for job seekers looking to stand out from the crowd: the VCV or Video Curriculum Vitae.
I have been looking at VCV’s on YouTube and none are as creative and interactive as the one below. Most people just read out the various highlights of their CV in front of a camera but this guy actually has an interactive component to his video. Check it out:

A video CV gives you limitless opportunities for creativity that a paper CV doesn’t. It also enables potential employers to get a feel for your personality which can definitely get lost in the text of a paper CV.
You need to have a lot of confidence to produce a good VCV which I think makes just having one advantageous for job candidates.
